Skeleton Key - 419

I went to the open paint day at Skeleton Key - 419 in Newton, KS on March 29, 2025 to play around with this temporary emoji mural.  People are throwing all the paint on the walls that they can before the remodel, so go check it out while you can.  Painted March 29, 2025.

DCI Park - Pillar Murals

I painted three sunflowers in a wraparound design for the far west rear column of the pavilion at DCI Park as part of a larger scale public art initiative planned to take place over the next couple years and organized through Hutch Rec and the Reno County EPIC Placemaking Cohort.  This work was finished Nov. 1, 2024.  Pictured from multiple angles to showcase all three sunflowers.

Newton Murals and Arts Fundraiser

I painted a sunflower mural on a 2 ft. x 2 ft. panel for the Newton Murals and Arts fundraiser at Plum Street Cottage on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024.  It was painted live and then auctioned off at the end of the event.  The pattern linework in the sunflower center and petals is all done in that iridescent gold shimmer paint and it is meant to hang on the diagonal.

 

 

Coloring Wall Murals

I painted some murals for the Coloring Walls as part of the interactive public art initiative at Baker Arts Center in Liberal, Kansas in conjunction with my show there.  Both incorporate sunflowers as a part of my ongoing Sunflowers Across Kansas project in addition to kids' stories and nursery rhymes (The Dish Ran Away with the Spoon to Mars and Say Cheese).

Summer Daze - Final Mural

Here's the final version with myself for a sense of scale.  The hot air balloon represents one of my grandfather's hot air balloons.

Summer Daze Progress

I got my panel drawn out for Diggin the Artz at the Newton, KS Summer Daze Sand Creek Festival on July 13, 2024...  My panel painting will prominently feature sunflowers as a kickoff for my Sunflowers Across Kansas project.  Also featured is my grandfather's first hot air balloon, to celebrate the theme of Flight.

Summer Daze Sand Creek Festival - Announcement for 2024

I will be the muralist for Diggin the Artz at the Newton, KS Summer Daze Sand Creek Festival on July 13, 2024!  This is going to be the big kickoff for my Sunflowers Across Kansas project as I work on my 8-foot panel.
